The Pan-European's all-new design also
features a new dual-element fuel tank that splits the fuel load between the
normal fuel tank and an auxiliary unit positioned under the seat that aids
control by helping to centralise weight and mass. Its larger 29-litre volume
also combines with the fairing's advanced new aerodynamics and the fuel-injected
engine's better fuel economy to realise a remarkably long touring range between
fuel stops.
One of the biggest changes to the new Pan-European is its all-new aluminium twin-spar frame. Exceptionally lightweight and rigid, this frame's large, triple-box-section main spars incorporate the engine as a central stressed member to realise lighter, sportier handling that can be enjoyed to the full even when carrying a passenger and heavy touring load. The new frame design also positions the engine farther forward for more neutral and responsive feeling of control, and more comfortable seating accommodations for both rider and passenger

The Pan-European's famed V4 engine has been
completely redesigned from the ground up for larger displacement, smaller
proportions, lighter weight and stronger power output. Its new PGM-FI fuel
injection system ensures instant response and peak performance in all riding
conditions, together with low fuel consumption and low exhaust emissions. The
engine's thoroughly retuned performance delivers an awe-inspiring thrust of
passing power at the twist of its throttle, and its dual-shaft balancer system
ensures a silky-smooth touring experience that never grows old. The deluxe ABS
version also features Honda's most advanced HECS3 catalytic low-emissions system
for exhaust emissions levels so low that they pass the toughest emissions
regulations in the world, now and in the future.
The Pan-European's suspension duties are
handled by a large, new 45mm cartridge-type H-MAS front fork that lends itself
to smoothly responsive sports touring performance, and a heavy-duty
single-damper rear suspension that supports a lightweight new cast aluminium
swingarm holding the Pan-European's clean and quiet shaft final drive system.
The deluxe ABS version also features a large, convenient adjustment knob for
quick and easy matching of the rear damper's hydraulic preload with the type of
riding ahead.
The new Pan-European offers the finest
combination of luxurious touring comfort and peerless control to be found in a
sports touring motorcycle. Its cockpit features broad, compliant seating for
long, comfortable hours in the saddle, which can now be height-adjusted in three
15mm steps that also reposition it forward or back by 12.5mm to provide the best
fit for the widest range of riders. Its beautifully appointed instrument display
features big dials and a large liquid crystal display of all operating
parameters, including fuel level and ambient temperature, and a convenient dial
permits easy adjustment of headlight beam height while your ride.
The Pan-European's aerodynamic,
large-capacity 35-litre detachable panniers are each built to carry a full-face
helmet and much, much more. They feature an easy-operation mounting system that
locks with a single key and releases with levers integrated into the base of the
grab rail, and their lids feature handy stopper straps for easy access without
dropping their contents while mounted on the bike. Convenient side pockets on
either side of the front console keep essentials within easy reach while on the
move, and a large, new 45-litre optional top box completes the Pan-European's
luggage system to securely carry enough equipment for the tour of a lifetime.
Windscreen too low for comfortable autobahn cruising? Too high for spirited jaunts through the hills? The deluxe Pan-European ABS solves this dilemma at the touch of a button with a new motor-driven windscreen that raises and lowers nearly 190mm to provide just the right protection for any type of riding you do. The screen also changes angle as it moves, for a more upright posture at its highest setting and a lower, more aggressive taper when down for quicker sports riding handling.
An all-new look for an all-new transcontinental touring machine. Featuring superb wind protection for the most comfortable 2-up long-distance touring, the Pan-European's beautiful new full-coverage fairing features more angular lines that impart a dynamic look of speed, while the front cowl and rear
